  Nursery and seed quaintity

The seeds should be sown at the depth of 1 cm and at the distance of 5-7 cm. Generally 400 gm of seeds is enough for one hectare while in case of Shanker variety 250 gm of seeds is sufficient. For the varieties which occupy more space, the distance between two rows should be 70 cm and distance between two plants in a row should be 60 cm, for the varieties which occupy comparatively less space the distance between two rows and distance between two plants in a row should be 60 x 60 cm or 60 x 45 cm.

  Manure and fertilizers

The recommendation on the amount of manure and fertilizer in soil is based on test conducted. Where the test could not be conducted 25-30 tons of fully prepared cow dung manure mixed with 200 kg Urea, 370 kg SuperPhosphate and 100 kg Potassium Sulphate should be used per hectare. One third of Urea full amount of Potassium Sulphate and SuperPhosphate should be used last time while preparing field.
