Basics of KPK (Krishi Pragati Kendra)

KPK’s are going to be initially established at 5 village level at any block of any district. In a Block, there are typically around 100 villages and thus there would be 20 KPK’s per Block. ANPL starts its operation in any district with a minimum full coverage of one block with 20 KPK’s. These centers are coordinating points to initiate all development activities in the rural segment and self-equipped with regards to: Basic office infrastructure, Communication equipment, Computers, Connectivity to internet, Generator set, Training Room with aids of training, small warehouse/store to keep products and literature, Small pantry and Water cooler and desert coolers. The estimated cost per center works out to be around 1.5 L. Besides this margin money requirements i.e. working capital requirements in the first quarter would be Rs. 1.0 L by which time it is expected that the center will attain the level of self-sustenance.
